The Phantom In My Brain

miracle sleeps
in a coffin—a boy

the sun appears pale like onlookers

drawn in black blood

the moon died last night

with his shadow

those close to him became cursed

with unbelief

he visits home in
scenes of broken mirrors

the black movie
in my eyes play

the boy’s ghost
mouths the wind

& his dust inspires
me— a god in tears
