The next time she
hears of how he
extrapolated
statistical trends
to arrive at
correlational
data she’ll be
halfway sprung
in search of
metaphorical
heavy machinery
she can calibrate
to tear down
everything in
the town again
metaphorically
but still she’ll be
her own math
gone full metal
from somewhere
bare in the back
of her brain
