ORLO’DEH-DEH ADAM KA’LUM . Òyi ga’é, ga kalò le’ela kã. Enem kór’ole lum, undórkò kaló, o’ká “ùwà lò’òche duñ… Lipù’eche mâ lo`jabe mê,ébe`nun. Òjirima ta’mu, òjirima ta’abroh, l’uwa’je re’éche ma. Òkpani! Ga ka’lo le’la ka. Adam kó’ole lum, undókò ka’ló. Òyi mò’ona`n, ùgbòg`o-ógbirijò o’tu’na`n. . Òwnchí byí’èpú ànò jólá lò’mán’ ànò jólá lò’jèàh lá’nòn, ónyró bén’kó ynáh. Óchédu lò dòrkó nunu, kò yhwó nunu bàtu itákwébi. Atah ché’fó’lá órgbòri òkàh órtigé. Ôgbrijó ká áhiginàpè rên’mêhn’ ûnu gò’ólé, âhiginápè ká âhò’gbrijò kó’uwá khwó nunu.

ALL THE THINGS MY FATHER TOLD ME

Child, come first. Come let us
discuss an issue first.
My mother told me something
and i want to tell you too.
There is nobody in this world that
can see their backs,
respect here, respect there,
is the way to last long on earth.
Man come let us discuss an issue first.
My father told me something, i
want to tell you too.
A child did not see baked cassava flour to eat
and an adult visitor is rejecting
the one given to him.

Tomorrow is pregnant, we know
not what she would give birth to,
if it would be a male or a female.
Anybody who wants to wrestle,
should go and wrestle with thunder.
Mr cricket is on the fire–roasting
he said he is burning fat.
The elders said little children
should not eat kolanut,
when war came home, the little
children said the elders should go and fight.
