The Association of Nigeria Authors (ANA) recently concluded its 34th Annual International Convention with the election of a new executive council to pilot the affair of the organisation for the next two years.
In the build up to the election, Praxis Magazine interviewed the two contestants – BM Dzukogi and Denja Abdullahi – gunning for position of President. It was a tough campaign, one almost ridiculed with accusations and counter-accusations.
General elections were held on 14th November, 2015 inside the Kaduna State University. New measures were introduced to ensure the “best election ever.” These measures however prolonged counting of votes and announcement of winners. Winners were finally announced at exactly 2:35am on Sunday 15th, November 2015.
The winners as announced by Prof. Jerry Agada, a former ANA President himself and one time Minister of Education (state), are:
